Fever in Children Older Than 3 Months
Fever is one of the most common reasons children are brought to the emergency department. But fever is only a symptom – not an illness. Many minor illnesses such as ear infections, colds, the flu, and urinary infections may cause fever. Occasionally, fever is a symptom of more serious illnesses such as pneumonia, meningitis, or a blood infection.
